The Smiling Knight II by Sir-Heartsalot The Smiling Knight II by Sir-Heartsalot
grrms asoiaf

I did a Smiling Knight before, but it was grossly inadequate.

I don't know about the rest of ASOIAF fans, but whenever anyone (Jaime) describes the Smiling Knight I just picture the Joker in armor.

Actually Jaime is like the only one who even remembers him, I'm beginning to think he was a figment of his imagination.

Some people may not remember him being mentioned at all!

Funny, Joker was defeated by Batman-The dark knight when smiling knight was defeated by Arthur Dayne- the morning sword. Cool artwork so far anyway :)

When I read about The Smiling Knight, I always pictured him as kind of a Westorosi version of The Joker. I'm glad I'm not the only one.

I've been reading the books because friends recommended them.. I got hooked. And I always wanted to look through your works, but I couldn't for fear that I'd stumble upon a spoiler or two.

This isn't my favorite work, but it still gives me the creeps. Great design.

I've finished reading the books yesterday, so unless the author has posted a preview of the "soon to be released" book, I won't have to suffer spoilers. yay^^

I think part of the issue with nobody else remembering The Smiling Knight is that pretty much everyone else who was at the battle is dead. With just Jaime left to think about it, it makes sense that he'd be the only one to bring it up semi-regularly, especially considering what it means to him personally.

Also, something I just thought of: If The Smiling Knight reminds you of the Joker, does that make Ser Arthur Dayne, the one who beat him, Batman? And if he is, does that mean that Jaime, as his squire, was Robin? XD

I think that is in no uncertain terms, EXACTLY what that means. No I don't think that, I don't think there is any parallel to Batman in the books.

Well, at least Sir Dayne seems as serious and dull as Batman :D.
Nice, specially the hairstyle with the broad sideburns. The teeth seem strange, try to darker the extremes next time, it works when I paint ^_^.

You didn't go for the pitch black background in the end, huh? That's cool, because I was going to choose this one, precisely. The green makes it so much better and...putrid. I love it!

I thought someone else mentioned him, someone from the Riverlands, or someone on the wall. Yeah, one of the Night's Watch was with the Kingswood Brotherhood and mentioned the Smiling Knight, I think.

Yeah, the old archer I think. He mentions having known the White Fawn I think she was called, the smiling knight, and a few others.

Actually, it was Merret Frey, who squired for Lord Sumner Crakehall. The White Fawn branded him...

No, there was a guy in the Night's Watch as well, the guy who was teaching Sam how to shoot a bow.

seriously he's mentioned once or twice by Jaime when he recalls his time with Ser Arthur Dayne and that's it. I just found him interesting.

haha yeah I remember vaguely. He looks so awesome and creepy! Oh and I'll be on hiatus for a bit starting April 14th we're turning off the internet because my fiance got laid off. Once he finds a job we'll probably turn it back on. I'll be on like, eh once a month or so? lol
