Artist's Comments

A Gyarados. Evolves from Magikarp at the criminal level of 20, which means you have to put up with a Magikarp who can only use Splash(a dealer of infinite no-damage) for at least 15 levels.

Here's some facts about Gyarados.

Gyarados has a beast attack, and yet it's signature move is Hyper Beam, a special move. Giving a Gyarados Hyper Beam is just a waste of a good 'Dos.

Gyarados' original name was going to be Skullkraken, unfortunately Pokémon has a 10 character limit on names. This also ruined the original name for Mr. Mime, Monsieurtrappedinabox.

Gyarados is a cursed Pokémon, having been blighted by the Gods with the secondary type Flying. Completely useless since it learns no Flying moves, it is only there to strengthen it's weakness to Electricity. Perhaps punishment for being so cool looking?

yeah only in Platinum, and through a move tutor. Also Bounce sucks. Good point though

what's wrong w/ Bounce? It's a physical STAB that can paralyze. BTW, your Gyarados is quite awesome.

it's a two turn move! While he's up in the air somebody can just Nasty Plot or Rock Polish or any number of horrible things! Can't afford to miss a turn! And thanks!

Another neat fact about Gyarados... it can devour Sir-Heartsalot's pokemon teams whole sometimes, yes, even Shuckle. Even Shuckle. Hahahaha. You only wish you had this hideous monster with its back to you on your DS screen.

I've always wondered why the heck it's part flying. Maybe just because it's got all those fins or something.

That does make it super-fun to use electric-type moves on, though.
