Maybe it was his monstrous beard that paid the iron price for his pretty belt?

Sweet picture. Balon is such a mean spirited old bastard, and not in a fun way like Tywin or Tarly. I was pretty happy when he died. Him and his tentacle beard. Psh.

Beard = perfect.

Balon Greyjoy's Diary of a Mad Old Kraken.

I have this bizarre fantasy of seeing him square off against a D&D Mind Flayer now... and the flayer not knowing what to do with him.

Or, you know, go the easy route and just have Balon standing next to Cthulhu. But as I said, that's too easy.

Do you think the Krakens have a touch of madness? Like the Targaryens?
